Novellas- Does Size Matter?

Looking at my book, it’s tiny.

Not quite pocket size, but definitely light enough to accompany the reader in transit.

Life is becoming more micro.

Even the new iPhone 11 has been made smaller than its predecessor.

Life is also time sensitive.

In this instant era, where if one waits more than a nanosecond for a link to produce its desired outcome, it’s discarded as quickly as out-of-date milk.

Friends who have read my novella are delightfully complimentary. I think if I had the audacity to give them anything resembling a 250-page book, they would have accepted it politely but not necessarily read it with such alacrity.

Reviews state that the general consensus is the book it’s too short.

If it were a story in a magazine, would it be too long?

Being a 1st time published author, I am both touched and flattered that not only are people kind enough to buy my book, but actually read it straight away and leave the table wanting more.

On that note, I have been working on a 2nd novel, where I will attempt to write enough pages to warrant the title being able to fit on the spine.
